Updated: Oct 19

Coaching Conservation has expanded in Botswana in 2024. With diverse backgrounds and dedication, each coach brings a unique perspective and qualities to reach our goals.

A new wave of energy and enthusiasm has arrived at Coaching Conservation! Meet the dynamic team of coaches/mentors who recently joined our team to reach and inspire kids to care about themselves, others and the environment in north west primary schools in Botswana. Bursting with creativity, passion, and a love for the environment, the coaches are poised to revolutionize the way children engage with concepts of conservation and environmental stewardship.

Leading the charge is Othusitse, commonly known as Coach Rambo, who has been with the programme for the past 3 years. With a background in IT education and a love for fitness and all things wild, Rambo adds passion to the team. Rambo’s boundless energy ignites a spark of excitement in his students, propelling them on a journey of discovery through the natural world.

Joining Rambo is Ronald, mostly known as ‘Coach’ to everyone, Ronald is an experienced football coach with a knack for turning learning into an adventure. With a newly found love for conservation trivia and a flair for storytelling, Ronald captivates his audience with dramatic mimics of wild animals’ characteristics to make his lessons fun and exciting.

Tlhagisegang ‘Coach T’, adds to the team natural educator energy by using interactive methods of engaging kids and making them a part of the lesson. Her positive and bubbly attitude always fills the room with warmth and laughter. Tlhagi believes in creating a conducive environment for kids to learn and unleash their full potential as well as changing the learners’ attitudes about conservation.

Coaches are trained and skilled in delivery of the CC curriculum designed to Inspire Kids Who Care.

Goitse with assertive and self motivated personality, Coach Goitse believes in having a hand in making positive change in people’s lives. Coming from a background in a community that believes that “it takes a village to raise a child”, being part of the CC programme has ignited a spark of responsibility in her and that can be seen with the great enthusiasm she engages with kids.

Kago ‘Coach Kago’ has always been an ambitious and dreamt big from a young age. Her infectious energy can be felt when she delivers the lessons, immersing herself completely syncing with the younger minds in schools. Kago feels aligned with CC mandate as she is passionate about sustainability.

Adonia ‘Coach Ado’ is hard not to notice, she is the fun one who is never shy to get kids into dancing and making the learning lively. Adonia takes pride in her ability to tailor her teaching approach to the unique needs of each community to help them better understand core messages. She is excited to make a positive impact and contribute to a better world that is aware of conservation challenges.

Together, the team embody the spirit of the conservation program—fun, energetic, and deeply committed to inspiring the next generation of environmental stewards. Through play, and interactive lesson, they invite children to embark on a journey learning, understanding the importance of the wildlife and natural world and revealing the interconnectedness of all living  and non-living things to help mould a generation where every child is empowered to make a positive difference on the environment.
